The Challenge helps significantly with finding new friends and networking, but only if we participate by visiting other people’s blogs. The A-Z is definitely a Challenge if you look at it from the point of view of trying to get through a thousand plus blogs. However, with a little organization, much can be achieved.
I’ll be a minion for Alex, the Ninja Captain, (see my nice, shiny badge on the side?) which will provide another incentive to get around a little bit more and see what’s going on with other bloggers/writers.
The Challenge goes much smoother for me if I pre-write my posts. I have good intentions, but fall prey to my harum-scarum nature if I’m not careful. Last year, I struggled with writing each post in the evenings, which meant I didn’t have enough time to visit as many bloggers as I would have liked. In 2011, I wrote my posts days in advance and that worked well, leaving me time to get around and meet new folks.
As extra insurance, I’ve already started writing my posts for this blog and the Character Depot. Here, I’ll be blogging my new novel, Christine’s Odyssey in twenty-six letters. Readers will get snippets from Christine’s point of view about her challenges, along with an insider’s look at life in Jamaica.
I hope you’ll join me for the journey.
Have you signed up for the challenge as yet? If you have, have you decided on a theme? If you haven’t signed up, what are you waiting for?
